June 5, 2020
A resolution to use the resources of the Campaign for Blue Political Action Committee to address systemic racism in the United States.
Whereas the murders of George Floyd, Amuad Arbery, and Breonna Taylor have brought to public attention the deep systemic problems around racism in policing;
Whereas Campaign for Blue has a goal of using the progressive power of our local community to elect Congressional candidates who share our values;
Whereas there is a diverse slate of Congressional candidates running in the 2020 general election;
Resolved, that Campaign for Blue --
-
will prioritize candidates who support legislation like H.Res.988 that address and condemn police brutality and systemic racism in policing;
-
will prioritize candidates that bring greater diversity to the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate;
-
will, to the best of its ability, support black-owned businesses in its purchases;
-
will dedicate at least 10% of donations to organizations supporting the dismantling of systemic racism; and
-
will make an effort to use the volunteer power of Campaign for Blue to support organizations mentioned in point (4).
